Winter Has Arrived!

It's so cold here that people actually have to plug in their cars. Crazy!!

My walk to work the other day.

Stephen Avenue in a frenzy of snow.

A couple of morbidly obese dudes immortalized in brass making a deal outside the Bay.

Calgary Tower view from Stephen Ave.

First Day of Work!

After my first day of work I came home to this handsome devil cooking me dinner!

Glass of wine already poured. What a guy! :)

Deer sausage, Asian coleslaw and new potatoes. So yummy!

Leftover cheese cake (3 kinds) and M & M's for dessert. I might have to call Jenny soon if he keeps this up!

Halloween Hicks

Graham & I decided to be a "Shotgun Wedding" for Halloween and really scare all the trick or treater's this year!!

And yes, it's true, I carved a Calgary Flamers pumpkin but not cause I'm a traitor, I swear! I was secretly hoping that some hoodlums would come and smash that sucker in the night. (Insert evil laugh here!)

We only had around 40 or 50 kids, a far cry from the 500 or so that I'm used to - so that meant a lot of leftover candy. Ack! So good, yet so wrong!

Graham hunting for dinner in the living room.

Gotta love a redneck yokel that can cook!

Mmmm....roast cooter!

Our roomate's dog, Sindell. Best dog ever! So sweet:)

The New Surroundings....

One of my first days living in Calgary I decided to head downtown on a gorgeous September day and I stumbled off the bus right on to Stephen Avenue, the most popular street in the City, and ended up wandering around town and over a bridge into Prince's Island Park.

The sun was shining, the leaves were changing colour and all seemed right in the world.

This was not the ugly brown, redneck-cowboy hat wearing city I had anticipated before my departure.

It is a surprisingly beautiful city and funnily enough most of the people I meet here are transplants from other places in Canada and around the world. They are drawn here for whatever reasons...work, love, etc and from what I can tell most of them stay because they love it here so much. Now I understand why.

Here is our sweet pad. This is the front room...complete with a deer farm.

Our kitchen, with my beautiful "Welcome to Calgary" flowers.

Dining room with a sexy Gold Devil Woman.

The downstairs living room, complete with a wood-burning oven. So nice from about October-June from what I can tell! :)

Nice view in the shop!
